History Buffs will enjoy the rich civil War history so abundant in the Shenandoah Valley. Visit the Civil War battlefield in New Market which is approximately 20 miles north of Augusta county. Make time to visit the Augusta Military Academy Museum just North of Staunton.
The American Frontier Museum in Augusta County provides a look at farm life during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries of Europe and North America, sheds a light on life in the past. All ages will enjoy a visit to the Frontier Culture Museum.
